Rule Of Thirds

The subject is Jett Mann who is on the intersection of the left and upper thirds line.

The arrow sign is on the left and lower thirds lines.

The hydrant is the subject and is on lower and left intersection. Deez nutz

The rule of thirds principle gives images a more artistic meaning and structure. I used the rules of thirds by having my subjects on an intersection in the foreground in front of a more neutral background.

Essay:
The first static image achieves composition because of the vertical and horizontal lines of the lamp. The second shows the horizontal lines of the road and vertical lines of the signs. The third has vertical and horizontal lines on the play structure and fence. The last one has horizontal lines in the sky and on the horizon.

The first dynamic image achieves composition because of the diagonal lines and sides of the flag as well as the direction of the shuttle. The Two person image shows diagonal lines on on "M" structure between the models. The house in the third picture has dominant diagonal lines on its roof. The last image is a diagonal hillside taken at an angle so the horizon and the edge of the land in also diagonal.

The static still life's subject is the lamp. The subject of the static two-person image is Jack. The architecture image focuses on the play structure and the horizon image focuses on the silhouettes in front of the sunset.

The static still life focuses on the shuttle model. The two person dynamic image focuses on Jett. The architecture image focuses on the roof of the house and landscape photo focuses on the hillside.

The first static image has vertical subordinate objects on the side of the focus to keep the static pattern. The two person static image has a house in the background with horizontal and vertical lines. The static architecture shot has objects in the background that have the static style like the tree and house side. The last static image has a relatively horizontal line along the top of the plants that support the static pattern.

The first dynamic image has a flag in the background that supports the dynamic style by being diagonal in the photo. The two person portrait is supported by the diagonal position of Jett's leg in the foreground. The architecture image is supported by the diagonal lines of the fence and chimney. Lastly the nature shot is supported by the diagonal lines of the horizon and land edge.

The first static image shows line and texture. The second shows line and space. the third shows color and contrast. The last staic image shows form and unity.

The first dynamic image shows emphasis and color. The second shows line and emphasis. This third shows line and color. The last dynamic shows texture and space.

ISO and Noise

Synopsis:
Exposure is how much light is used in a photo and is controlled by aperture, shutter speed and ISO.

Shutter speed is how fast the curtain closes over the lens and is measured in fractions of a sec. Shutter speed controls how long light enters the lens and controls how motion is captured.

Aperture is controls the amount of focused light entering the lens. It can be adjusted to change the depth of field of what is in focus.

ISO is the specific light sensitivity in the photo. A lower ISO is less sensitive and has less noise in the image.
